Dear Editor:
As a candidate for County Commissioner, District 3, my focus on how to be the best representative of the people has heightened. In a recent awards ceremony at Club 20, I was reminded by one of the presenters regarding how important it is to “sit down and listen” to the people you are representing.
In the past month, I have enjoyed meeting with many of you across the County whether meeting you for the first time or catching up with those I have known for years. I have truly enjoyed “sitting down (or standing) and listening” to you. I want to say “Thank You” to all of you willing to share your stories and concerns for Rio Blanco County and our way of life here. I am learning a lot from you and enjoying every minute of it. I am looking forward to meeting with more of you in the near future.
To provide another opportunity to “sit down and listen” to you and for you to learn about me, I hosted a “Coffee and Treats” event in Rangely on April 21st in cooperation with the District 2 commissioner candidate. I will host a second “Coffee and Treats” in Meeker at the Kilowatt Corner on Saturday, April 27 from 8-11 a.m. Please join all three commissioner candidates, one candidate from District 2 and the two candidates from District 3 to talk one-on-one with each of us.
The coffee will be hot, the Grammie’s Oven cinnamon rolls will be tasty, and the conversation will be informative. I look forward to seeing you there so I can listen and learn from each of you, and you can learn more about me, my background, and what I have to offer you as one of the next Rio Blanco County Commissioners. If you have questions, you can reach me at 970-250-6825. I look forward to seeing you there.
Callie (Hendrickson) Scritchfield
