ARRESTS
A 50 year old female was arrested on 3/22/2024 by Rio Blanco Sheriff’s
Office for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Marijuana. She
was later released on a summons.
CALL SUMMARIES
3/17/2024 @ 6:53 pm. A deputy on routine patrol came across several college students looking over the edge of the road. Upon further investigation the deputy saw a crashed vehicle off the road about 80 yards
away down a dropoff. The deputy spoke to all the students and they
informed him they had just found the vehicle as well. The deputy hiked
down to the vehicle to check for any occupants or injured parties. The
vehicle was unoccupied. Colorado State Patrol took the report.
3/18/2024 @ 8:33 pm. A domestic dispute came into the Communications
Center in the town limits of Meeker. Both the subjects were intoxicated.
After confirming just a verbal argument had occurred, officers left the
residence.
3/20/2024 @ 2:04 pm. A local business reported that someone had stolen an item from the store. An officer located the “suspect” vehicle and
contacted them. Meanwhile, the business called back and stated they had
reviewed the camera closer and the suspect had not stolen anything.
3/20/2024 @ 11:06 pm. A 911 call came into the Communications Center and the dispatcher received a message that was in another language. When the dispatcher called the phone back, the song Baby Shark was played.
Officers were dispatched to the residence and everything was okay, it was
a child playing with the phone.
3/21/2024 @ 4:38 pm. A controlled burn got out of control. Reports were that the fire was spreading quickly and near equipment and trailers. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded and had the fire under control at 5:20 pm.
3/22/2024 @ 5:17 pm. A routine traffic stop at the 35 mile-marker on
Highway 13 turned into an arrest when the driver was suspected of Driving
Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Marijuana. She was later released on a summons.
3/23/2024 @ 1:22 pm. A crash occurred at City Park when an RV hit a
building. The building was still sound and standing and the RV was still drivable. No injuries were reported.
